CRITERIA
1. Sportsmanship: Does coach provide example of sportsmanship? Teach to players and supporters? Are players encouraged to comprehend the link between sportsmanship and life? Does the coach practice what he/she preaches? 2. Player development: Are players motivated to learn and play to extent of their ability and capability? Does the coach inculcate enthusiasm, creativity, independence, self-confidence, and risk taking? Are players encouraged to seek higher competition? Does coach encourage players to train on their own or play in "pick-up" games? 3. Personal coaching development: Continues to learn and perfect skills and abilities? Has he/she taken courses in all aspects of game; refereeing, coaching, or playing? Does the coach participate in some manner whether playing or refereeing? Does he/she learn about the game in other ways? 4. Citizenship: Is the coach well known in own soccer community and aware of the larger soccer world? Does the coach positively influence soccer beyond his own team? Is the coach open to suggestions or other ideas?
