Passing Through Moving Gates
Back to Activities

Description
•Players ‘A’ and ‘B’ are ‘moving gates’ that shuffle back and forth, perpendicular to the direction of the pass. The farthest they seperate is five yds.
•Passers ‘C’ and ‘D’ pass the ball back and forth to each other trying not to hit the gates.
•If the gate is hit, the gates become passers.
Variations:
-Allowing players unlimited touches on the ball
-Allow players two touches, but the ball must never stop rolling.
-Allow only one touch passes
Coaching Points
•Players must be active and anticipate the movement of the gates.
•Move towards the ball to speed up play, drop to slow it down to allow the gates to open.
•Weight of the pass must be appropriate.
