Through Ball Game
Back to Activities

Description
•4 vs. 4 played in half of the field (Zone ‘A’).
•Score a goal by competing 6 passes in a row or by scoring in a goal in the far side goal (Zone ‘B’)
•Defenders are not allowed into their own half unless their keeper makes a save.
•Ball can only move from one zone to the other by a pass.
•Keeper may come out to intercept the pass.
•When the attacker receives the pass in zone ‘B’, they must take a ‘first time’ shot. The attacker can not go into the zone ahead of the ball.
•If defenders intercept any pass, they play the ball back to their keeper, go in to support, and the game starts back in the other direction.
•Progression:
-Have a target player in zone ‘B’, who waits for the penetrating pass, and lays it back for the oncoming shooter.
-No target player.
-One defender can ‘chase’ in to the zone.
Coaching Points
•Attacking:
-Possession / penetration decisions. (Look to penetrate when ball played back)
